My Opinion About Polygamy

Polygamy!! Most of the women hate polygamy...recently, my friends and I need to do some Oral Test on 3 topics based on 3 short stories that we learnt in class. Most of my classmates chose the first short stories. Listening to the same topic for about 9 person, i found it a bit sleepy until this 1 guy and a lady voiced out their opinion about polygamy.

Basically, most of men will agree that polygamy should be practice in their marriage. That's how they been created and on the other side, women would totally disagree on this topic. The battle on it is happening in our class, they keep punching,kicking and smashing each other---err, by their killer points. ^_^

What is polygamy? A man marry to more than 1 wife. People keep saying that Islam should not allow polygamy in marriage, Why do man needs to marry more than 1 wife? polygamy is ridiculous.

NOW, let me speak...

Polygamy existed before the advent of Islam. At that century, man could marry to how many women that he wish for. Islam limiting the number of wives a man could marry which up to 4 wives..ONLY 4..BUT with certain conditions which are :
#No objection from the wife/wives
#Equitable treatment to all wives
#To help the unfortunate woman
#Capable in economy
#The wife cannot give birth
If the man is not competent enough to satisfy all of them, he is not eligible to practices polygamy.

The problems among the society are, when they(MEN) marry more than 1 wife, they tend to ignore the first wife. They spend like 23/6 at the other house, leaving behind the first wife and their little kids. AND most of the marriage are base on lust ( they called it LOVE). That what makes polygamy such a annoying situation to the public.

Not all  of them whom undergo polygamy had a bad day, they are minority who can live happily as usual and there are some who live under the same roof with their spouses.

It all depend on how the husband handle his "families". So, I'll suggest : Men, PLEASE>>PLEASE>>PLEASE   do read,recite much from Quran, Hadis, Religious Books, an expert (Ustaz and Ustazah) before deciding on polygamy..If not just stay with Monogamy..

this is on only my opinion, i did not oppose polygamy because it is "HARUS" in Islam but i'm against the way they applied it..
